Screw Press (SP) Sludge Dewatering Machine


​The Kintep Screw Press Sludge Dewatering Machine offers a low-cost and more efficient alternative to what has previously been a time-consuming and costly process. Its unique design combines a mechanical screw press and chemical processes to treat sludge with higher water content than possible with conventional dewatering options. This combination allows the Kintep SP Sludge Dewatering Machine to process sludge with a water content of up to 99% while using 5% of the energy of other dewatering methods.
Reduced Maintenance Needs
​The Kintep Screw Press Sludge Dewatering Machine has been designed to reduce the downtime that maintenance requires. Screens are less susceptible to clogging, even by sludge with high fat or oil content, reducing the machine’s water consumption due to less frequent spray cleaning. The machine automatically performs this cleaning intermittently for only 2-4% of the operating time.
Additionally, compared to centrifuge sludge dewatering methods, the Kintep SP Sludge Dewatering Machine requires only low vibration levels and moderate pressure. This reduces mechanical wear and leads to a longer lifespan than other dewatering options. 
Lower Running Costs ​
​The Kintep Screw Press Sludge Dewatering Machine will cost you less outright. It is half the price of belt press or centrifuge dewatering machines.
It has also been designed to be more cost-effective to run than other dewatering solutions. The machine’s angle of incline allows the water to drain without mechanical intervention, reducing the energy consumption of a vital process. This means the dewatering machine consumes just 5% of the energy of a centrifuge dewatering machine. In addition, the entire dewatering process can be PLC controlled. The Kintep Screw Press Sludge Dewatering Machine can run automatically 24 hours per day, making this a low operator oversight solution. 
versatile Use
​The Kintep SP Sludge Dewatering Machine can handle high FOG sludge (sludge with high fat, oil, and grease content) and high water-content sludge without the need for pre-thickening. The self-contained sludge flocculation, thickening, dewatering, and filtrate discharging process allows for applications in a range of different industries. 

How the Kintep SP Sludge Dewatering Machine Compares to Conventional Press, Belt Press, and Centrifuge Dewatering Machines

The Kintep Screw Press Sludge Dewatering machine processes sludge more effectively while using fewer resources than conventional dewatering methods. Energy consumption is 5% of that of the centrifuge dewatering machine. Water wastage is 0.1% of that of a belt press dewatering machine.

​How the Kintep Screw Press Sludge Dewatering Machine Works

Step 1
The sewerage or low-density sludge is fed into the mixing and flocculating tanks. This is an optional process that uses PAC/PAM to remove clusters from sludge with varying solid concentrations. 
step 2
The flocculated sludge enters the thickening zone of the dewatering cylinder. Here, the screw shaft applies a slow-speed rotational pressing force in the direction of the backplate. The screw shaft, fixed rings, and moving rings apply continuous compression that squeezes the liquid from the thickened sludge. 
step 3
As the liquid is squeezed from the sludge, the incline of the dewatering cylinder allows the liquid to drain through the screens and into the collecting base. 
step 4
The thickened sludge is pushed to the dewatering zone, where the narrower ring gaps press any remaining liquid from the dried mud cake. 
step 5
​The dried mud cake is discharged from the sludge outlet located at the end of the dewatering zone. The sludge dewatering process is more effective for a fraction of the cost.
